Abstract

ABSTRACT Cholesterol is one of the elements fat and there are in each of the human body. The height cholesterol levels could clog a blood vessel in the heart and the brain. Medically treatment in the form of drugs chemical or non-medical is using herbs therapy fruit juice that could be lowered cholesterol levels one of which is by use of chayote juice. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the juice squash with a reduction in blood cholesterol levels in society. This design is using quasy-experiment design research with metode non-equivalent control group design. The respondent amounted to 26 people divided into, the treatment group and the control groups. The treatment group will be given a chayote juice while the control group not given the therapy. This research result indicates the difference between the treatment group and control groups shown by statistical testing independent t test p 0.048 <0.005 means that there is a difference between before and after administration of chayato juice (Sechium edule) in the treatment group. Chayote can lower blood cholesterol levels. The implications of this research was the who increase the cholesterol high can reduce the cholesterol levels by regularly consume a chayote juice ( Sechium edule ) and also must be balanced with a healty lifestyle change Keyword : The effectiveness of chayote juices (Sechium edule), the drop in cholesterol levels
