Abstract

Safety incidents in hospitals are increasing in several hospitals across Indonesia even though KTD and KNC incidents are not reported. The aim of this research is to know the factors related to Patient Safety Incident in Emergency Ambulance Service Unit of RSU Haji Surabaya. The research design was used cross sectional approach. The independent variables in this research are individual nurse characteristic factor (level of education, work experience, and age), environmental and organizational factors (communication, Standard Operational Procedure) with dependent variable ie Safety Incident. Sampling using simple random sampling method from the population of 25 respondents and taken sample 24 respondents. Instrument using questionnaire sheet. The test used is Chi-Square test. The results showed that there was a correlation between age, education level, length of service in the hospital, nurse communication with patient safety incidents and no relationship between the working period in the AGD, nurse cooperation, Standart Procedure Operasional, and comfort with patient safety incidents. Efforts that can be done is the Hospital should renew Standart Procedure Operasional in order to facilitate all procedures of Ambulance service RSU Haji Surabaya and can improve the quality of service with attention to patient safety.
